We’re here to create a world where people and the planet can thrive together.
Gorongosa National Park is among the most biodiverse places on Earth. Once threatened by civil war, this vast and densely populated park is today one of the world’s greatest human development and wildlife conservation success stories.
In 2019, Our Gorongosa was established to support sustainable development in Gorongosa National Park. How? Any profits from our premium products go to the Gorongosa Project - the non-profit that runs the Park’s human development and restoration initiatives.
In 2015, the Gorongosa Project partnered with green bean coffee experts and local farmers to plant coffee and native rainforest trees on Mount Gorongosa. Today, more than 600 farmers are planting 200,000 coffee trees per year and 100,000 rainforest trees alongside them!
We purchase our green coffee beans directly from these local farmers, giving them a sustainable source of income that helps them support their families, send their children to school, and save for the future.
Next, our beans need to be roasted. Speciality coffee roasters in the United States and the United Kingdom expertly blend our beans with other sustainably-sourced Arabica beans to craft our unique and flavourful roasts. Each one is tested for quality and consistency to ensure an extraordinary experience with every cup.
The best part? Every Our Gorongosa purchase supports one of three impact areas in Gorongosa National Park. Together, we’re on our way to reaching the following goals by 2035:
Thanks to you, we’re making a real impact in Gorongosa National Park. With every sip, you become part of a growing community dedicated to the Park’s communities, wildlife, and ecosystems.
Together, we can create a world where people, wildlife, and the planet thrive together.
